| Farmworker Family Christmas 2009 Farmworker Family Christmas 2009 was an especially wonderful year for the Farmworker Family Christmas. Felipe and Irma Piña graciously donated the use of their church (La Iglesia del Rey) in Las Lomas for a piñata party and gift distribution to the poorest farmworkers that attend the church. Families attended the Christmas party from Watsonville, Salinas and Las Lomas. Venture Crew 697 of San Jose provided beautiful gifts to three indigenous Mexican families. An elementary school in Santa Clara donated literally rooms full of gifts. Elaine Ruckel donated 11 gift certificates for teens, and some individuals with disabilities received special gifts. The abundance of gifts, joy, celebration, food and candy canes that Santa distributed was a delight for all in attendance.
